“Yam Yam is the Dutch translation of "yum yum" – the sound you make when you try their Tartufata pizza. This house speciality involves Italian ham, rocket, parmesan and (most importantly) truffle sauce. The dough is thin, crisp and nutty with ever-so-slightly charred edges; the toppings are fresh, authentic and generous, and the truffle is plain addictive. There is an array of other pizzas, as well as bresaola, buffalo mozzarella, bruschetta and other classic Italian antipasti. Despite (or possibly because of) its off-the-beaten-track location, Yam Yam has a local, neighbourhood feel and is always busy.

At YamYam you can also get take-away pizzas and if you want to go a little crazy: take home a pizza to bake in your own oven. Tastes a lot better than the one from the freezer in the supermarket!”

This is one of the only pizza restaurants where you need to make a reservation every single day of the week. It doesn’t matter if this happens to be on a grey Monday evening or a sunny Sunday afternoon (they also have a small terrace) because it’s always busy. Even though we always order pizza YamYam because of the amazing truffle sauce, we also happen to go for pasta more often. It’s all possible at the booming hotspot in west Amsterdam.
